Software Engineer, Android App Security, Content Abuse
Summary
Software engineer on Google's Android App Safety Content Abuse team in Singapore, building core infrastructure and machine learning models that detect malicious apps and enforce policy on the Android platform. Work spans back-end systems and applied AI/ML (including LLMs) within a cross-functional trust & safety team.
With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
In the Content Abuse Team in Android App Safety Engineering, you will work on core software infrastructure and machine learning models to detect and enforce our policies on malicious apps. This is a critically important problem for Android and Google which will require the use of technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

- Work on core software infrastructure and machine learning models to detect and enforce our policies on malicious apps.
- Work in a fast paced and highly skilled cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, analysts, operations, policy and legal experts. Collaborate with other teams at Google including counter abuse technology team, trust and safety, privacy, etc.
- Deliver high-quality infrastructural software and Machine Learning (ML) models in a rapidly evolving environment.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Go or Java).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience or interest working in the Anti-Abuse, Trust and Safety domains.
- Full-stack software engineering experience (e.g., back-end, front-end, and applied ML).
- Interest/experience applying AI/ML and Large Language Models (LLMs) to abuse detection.
