Join a small engineering team building AI-powered data solutions for alternative investment firms. In this customer-facing, forward-deployed role, you will combine product engineering and applied AI to turn customer needs into production software.
What You'll Do- Work directly with asset managers and their portfolio companies to understand data challenges and develop AI-powered solutions.
- Own delivery from customer discovery through production deployment across backend, frontend, and AI systems.
- Shape customer-specific technical roadmaps and connect product decisions to business outcomes.
- Use LLMs and AI agents in your daily work, building on the team's internal AI infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the founding team in a high-autonomy environment with broad ownership.
- One to six years of software engineering experience, with interest in customer-facing applied AI work.
- Experience delivering full-stack products across backend, frontend, and AI layers, ideally in an early-stage startup environment.
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with FastAPI, Temporal, React, and production software development.
- Experience owning technical roadmaps and translating customer needs into practical technical solutions.
- Comfort working through ambiguity, managing customer relationships, and taking increasing ownership.
- A degree in computer science or a combined computer science and mathematics background.
Base salary is $165,000 to $290,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
LocationThis is an on-site role in New York, United States, five days per week.
