Software Engineer

About the role

Ardea Investment Management is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team, supporting the design, development and maintenance of software applications and internal systems that underpin our investment and trading operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and document software applications and internal systems used to support investment and trading operations, in accordance with business requirements and technical specifications

• Analyse user and business requirements to design and implement full-stack software solutions using React (front-end) and Django (back-end), ensuring applications meet functional and technical specifications

• Write, test, debug and maintain program code to identify and correct system errors and performance issues, ensuring applications operate reliably and to specification

• Modify and enhance existing software tools to improve performance, functionality and reliability, including portfolio optimisation and investment workflow applications

• Design and implement system integrations between internal applications, SimCorp APIs and SQL Server databases to support data flow across investment platforms

• Install, implement and support internal software applications used by portfolio managers and middle office teams, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues

• Consult and collaborate with research, trading and operations teams to evaluate system requirements and translate business needs into technical software solutions

• Document system functionality, technical specifications and processes to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge transfer

About you

• Demonstrated experience in full-stack software development, ideally using React and Django

• Experience working with SQL Server databases and system integrations

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders

• Experience in financial services or investment management highly regarded but not essential
