Software Engineer, Associate

Associate Software Engineer contributing to Infor COM, an enterprise ERP product, using C++ and Java while learning ERP concepts in a part-time role.

We are looking for a passionate Associate Software Engineer to join our dynamic product development team on a part-time basis – 50% FTE. This role is a great opportunity for students, graduates, or early‑career professionals who want to gain hands‑on experience in software development while learning how enterprise ERP products are built and maintained.

In this role, you will support the development of Infor COM, an Enterprise Resource Planning solution used by manufacturing companies. You will work closely with experienced Software Engineers and contribute to real product development tasks, including application functionality, framework components, testing, defect analysis, and technical improvements.

The role is primarily technical and development‑focused. You will have the opportunity to work with technologies such as C++ and Java, learn ERP concepts over time, and develop your skills in a collaborative international environment.

TODAY IN THE LIFE

  • Assisting in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Infor COM application functionality.
  • Supporting development work related to application business logic, framework components, and product enhancements.
  • Writing clean, efficient, and well‑documented code under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Working with technologies such as C++, Java, or similar programming languages.
  • Investigating, debugging, and resolving software defects and technical issues.
  • Supporting release testing, feature validation, and beta support activities.
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including Software Engineering, QA, Product Management, Product Support, and Consulting.
  • Learning ERP processes and understanding how business requirements are translated into technical solutions.
  • Participating in team discussions, technical reviews, and knowledge‑sharing activities.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of existing systems, tools, and development practices.
  • Working as part of an international team, including colleagues based in Poland and Germany.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of at least one programming language.
  • Analytical thinking and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Interest in building reliable, maintainable, and high‑quality software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of C++, Java, C#, or similar programming languages.
  • Academic, personal, or internship experience involving software development.
  • Basic understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • Interest in ERP systems, manufacturing processes, or enterprise software.
  • Exposure to Agile development practices such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • German language skills would be considered an advantage.
