Software Engineer - Back End

You will design, implement, and test backend components for the Data Platform and trading platform. The role includes building Golang services, implementing trading strategies, supporting production systems, improving low-latency infrastructure, and collaborating across engineering, product, design, and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance the trading platform with new features and capacities
• Ensure consistency across engineering instances and the broader client build roadmap
• Implement and optimise execution and algorithmic trading strategies
• Build new services using Golang to meet product and business needs
• Build features that help customers collaborate on asset management
• Translate product and technical vision into a quarterly roadmap
• Monitor and support trading algorithms, exchange connectivity, analytics, and market data
• Enhance the platform for low-latency and high-frequency trading
• Maintain strong testing practices to prevent regressions

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a similar backend engineering role
• Golang experience or proficiency in C#, C++, or Java
• Object-oriented or functional analysis and design skills
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and high-performance code design
• Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Experience developing large-scale concurrent, event-driven distributed systems
• Experience with event-driven or streaming architectures using NATS or Aeron
• Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database
• Public cloud experience with GCP or AWS, including serverless architecture and BigQuery
• Understanding of deployment technologies, CI/CD, code versioning, and issue management tools
• Familiarity with POSIX-oriented environments
• Knowledge of data processing and financial market data
• Understanding of order pricing, smart order routing, and execution algorithms such as VWAP, TWAP, and POV
• Experience building systems around Transaction Cost Analysis
• Hands-on experience with the FIX protocol
• Experience using AI assistants such as Claude to augment development capabilities
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills
• Desirable: direct experience developing and supporting trading systems
• Desirable: understanding of financial markets, crypto markets, and digital asset products
