We’re looking for Backend Engineers who are excited to solve real‑world problems at scale. You’ll work on product teams or platform teams that power our three‑side marketplace of Consumers, Dashers, and Merchants. From improving restaurant discovery to optimizing delivery logistics, you’ll help shape the experience of millions of users.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, product managers, and designers—many based in the U.S.—so fluency in English and strong collaboration skills are essential.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and maintain large‑scale backend systems used by millions of users
- Contribute to our technical roadmap and define the architecture for key product areas
- Drive improvements in performance, scalability, reliability, and security
- Help transition parts of our monolithic codebase to a microservices architecture
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across Brazil and the U.S.
- Work on high‑impact features that directly improve the user experience for Dashers, Merchants, or Consumers
We’re excited about you because…
- You have 1+ years of experience with backend technologies and distributed systems
- You have proficiency in using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) in the full software development lifecycle, including designing, generating code, testing, monitoring and releasing software
- You’re comfortable with modern web architecture (HTTP, REST APIs, gRPC, microservices)
- You’ve worked with relational and non‑relational databases
- You enjoy solving complex problems with elegant code and clear thinking
- You’re comfortable collaborating in English, including participating in meetings and code reviews
- You’re fluent in English and confident participating in meetings and code reviews in English
- You care about quality and write tests to ensure your code works as expected
- You take ownership and enjoy working with autonomy in a fast‑paced environment
Nice to haves
- Experience working at a tech company with scale
- Familiarity with Java, Kotlin, or similar JVM languages
- Exposure to big data technologies or event‑driven architecture
- Interest in mentorship or growing into a technical leadership role
