Software Engineer (Backend)
Summary
Build and scale the backend services powering a regional fintech lending platform, using TypeScript/Python/Java, PostgreSQL, and GCP while collaborating with product and operations teams.
We're looking for a Software Engineer - Backend to help build and scale the backbone of OneLots fintech platform. In this role, you'll design and maintain the backend services that enable our lending operations, work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features, and ensure our systems remain reliable, secure, and fast as we grow. You'll collaborate directly with our founding and product teams, gaining firsthand insight into customer needs and solving complex technical challenges that shape our business.

What you'll be doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to define and deliver requirements
- Improve code quality through reviews, refactoring, and best-practice implementation
- Implement observability, monitoring, and performance tools for production
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide quick, reliable solutions
- Uphold best practices in testing, deployment, and system reliability
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience building scalable, distributed backend systems
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Python, or Java
- Experience with relational databases (especially PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Experience building RESTful APIs
- Strong debugging skills and collaborative communication style
