Software Engineer — Backend & Platform

Role Summary

We are hiring a Mid-Level Software Engineer to work across our security data platform—a multi-tenant system that collects, processes, and analyses large volumes of security data for enterprise customers, with each customer served from its own isolated cloud environment.

This is deliberately a broad role rather than a narrow one. You'll rotate across multiple engineering initiatives—including backend services, AI, data pipelines, third-party integrations, and infrastructure—rather than being assigned to a single system. We're looking for someone who enjoys variety, is eager to learn new technologies, and can adapt as priorities evolve.

What You'll Work On

Our engineering work spans multiple areas, and you'll contribute to all of them over time.

• Backend Services

Develop and maintain our core services written in Go, including APIs and background processors that power the platform. This is where you'll spend most of your time initially.

• AI-Assisted Security Operations

Build systems that use Large Language Models (LLMs) to automatically triage and investigate security alerts, gather supporting evidence, and recommend response actions.

• Data Pipeline

Develop and maintain the ingestion pipeline that processes high volumes of security logs, parses them, normalizes them into a common schema, and makes them searchable.

• Third-Party Integrations

Build connectors that integrate security data from external security vendors and cloud providers into the platform.

• Infrastructure

Work with cloud infrastructure as code to provision and maintain Kubernetes environments that power the platform.

• Frontend

Occasionally contribute to our web dashboard built for end users. While frontend work isn't a primary responsibility, you'll have opportunities to contribute when needed.

What We're Looking For

Experience

• 3–6 years of professional experience as a Backend Software Engineer.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with Go (Golang), or 3+ years with Java, C#, Rust, or Kotlin along with demonstrable Go ability, which will be assessed during the interview process.
• Experience owning software in production, including deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining live applications.
  

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Go (Golang).
• Experience designing and building REST APIs.
• Strong understanding of SQL databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent), including schema design and query writing.
• Experience with message queues or streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience writing automated tests as part of the software development lifecycle.
• Comfortable using Git and participating in detailed code reviews.

Communication & Working Style

• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Able to work independently from written specifications while proactively clarifying ambiguous requirements.
• Comfortable working within structured engineering processes, including peer reviews and automated quality and security checks.
• Enjoys working across multiple projects and technologies rather than focusing on a single specialization.
  

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

• Security technologies and frameworks such as SIEM, SOC, XDR, Detection Engineering, or MITRE ATT&CK
• Log and data pipeline tools such as Logstash, Vector, Fluent Bit, or similar technologies
• OpenSearch or Elasticsearch
• Python development
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Helm, or Argo CD
• AI and Large Language Model (LLM) technologies, including prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and tool calling
• Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform is also valued)
• Frontend development using TypeScript and React
