Software Engineer (Calypso)

Summary

This role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting the Calypso back-office package for financial systems. The engineer will work on customizations, bug fixes, and release management using Java, PL/SQL, and various DevOps tools.

Role Scope: This role aims to develop on the Calypso back-office package, in project mode as well as maintenance, and to support the “run the bank” function.

Main Responsibilities

  • Build management:
    • -Develop in JAVA for Calypso package.
  • Incidents and Requests management (business users and other IT teams)
    • -Analyse enhancement requests and bug-fixes.
  • -Document deliveries.
  • Change Management:
    • -Apply monthly release strategy, following the team’s milestones for analysis, coding and testing.
    • -Support the release roadmap in production.
  • -Operations management
  • -Application support, level1 and 2
  • -Troubleshoot and fix issues.
  • Continuous improvement:
    • -Process improvements.
  • Research, design, and develop software.
  • Analyse user needs and develop software solutions
  • Update software, enhances existing software capabilities, and develops and direct software testing and validation procedures.

Technical

  • Understanding of Java, PL/SQL & Linux.
  • Experience in Calypso and Back-office functionality with hands-on experience in customizations of different Calypso modules
  • Knowledge of Confirmations, Settlement, Position and Accounting modules.
  • Understanding of financial assets (repos, bonds, SLB, issuances) and trade lifecycle.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting HRF, NORIA, MMSR.
  • Experience ideally in interfacing Calypso with external systems.
  • Experience in GIT, Master Deploy, SVN, JENKINS, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Dababase: Oracle, Sybase, MongoBD.
  • Developing Micro services.
