Software Engineer

Summary

Builds AI-powered, browser-based software that automates construction design plans and electrical schematics, cutting planning from weeks to hours using C#/Python and CAD data pipelines.

About the Role

This is a founding-team software engineering role at an early-stage, AI-powered construction tech company based in Berlin. The company builds browser-based software that automates the generation of building design plans — covering technical building equipment and electrical schematics — dramatically reducing planning timelines from weeks to hours.

As one of the first Software Engineers on the team, you will have a direct impact on core architecture, infrastructure, and plugin/backend design decisions. You'll help shape the tech stack, deliver prototypes, and drive the MVP to production across multiple ecosystems — all within a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of early-stage prototypes.

  • Ensure the MVP is production-ready and built to scale.

  • Deliver robust solutions across multiple software ecosystems.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code.

  • Process and handle large volumes of CAD data efficiently.

  • Participate in backend and plugin architecture decisions alongside the founding technical team.

  • Contribute to infrastructure setup and tooling decisions.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Proficiency in C# or Python for backend software development, underpinned by strong computer science fundamentals.

Strongly valued:

  • Experience with CAD data processing and implementing data structures and algorithms for scalable software.

  • Proven ability to design, build, and ship production-ready MVPs.

  • Hands-on experience contributing to infrastructure setup and backend/plugin architecture.

  • Comfort working across multiple ecosystems and with large, complex datasets.

  • An early-stage mindset — you're energised by ambiguity, ownership, and building from scratch.

Background in AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) software, or experience with tools such as Revit or similar CAD/BIM platforms, is a plus.

Location

  • Based in Berlin, Germany.

  • Hybrid working arrangement — approximately 3 days per week in the office.

  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation details have not been specified for this role. As an early-stage company, equity participation is likely part of the overall package. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.
