Software Engineer
Summary
Builds and maintains Java-based banking microservices and REST APIs, integrating with Avaloq systems and automating tests for core banking solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality Java code and maintain robust frameworks and tools for automation, utilizing Java and microservices with REST API for both new features and enhancements.
- Support interface design and integration with upstream/downstream banking systems (CRM, Treasury, Risk, Reporting, etc ). Assuming ownership and accountability for specific components of the frameworks and tools.
- Engaging in collaborative efforts with development teams working on applications and microservices.
- Collaborate with product owners to understandand prioritize requirements. Ensure cohesive partnership with configuration specialists and fellow software engineers to meet team standards.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and support SIT/UAT cycles.
- Validate end-to-end functionality, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
- Debug complex software issues and optimize application performance through targeted code improvements and systematic refactoring.
- Support production deployments, release management, and post-go-live issue resolution.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering,or related studies
- 5 to 10 years hands-on experience in banking solution suite development, testing and parameterisation, with a focus on topics around interfaces with Avaloq banking solution. Strong understanding of the AvaloqObject Model (AOM), PL/SQL, and Avaloq frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in Java programming / development and associated frameworks (e.g. J2EE, Spring, Angular)
- Experience with REST APIs and message-based systems (e.g. XML, JSON)
- Experience in automation tools like Cypress, Selenium, Appium, Jest
- Experience with Performance testing tools (Gatlin, LoadRunner, JMeter)
- Knowledge in Oracle database architecture
- Experience in integrating automated tests in CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure.
- Knowledge and practical experience in using open-source libraries and tools within development projects.
