Software Engineer (Data & AI)

Salary: $120,000 – $150,000 per year

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Software Engineer (Data & AI) to join our Head Office team in Silverwater, NSW on a full-time basis.

About the Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to work across modern software engineering, AI solutions, enterprise integrations, data platforms and business-critical systems within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable software applications, APIs and system integrations.

  • Build and support AI and data-driven solutions that improve business operations and decision-making.

  • Develop integrations between web applications, ERP systems and backend platforms using modern web services and APIs.

  • Design, optimise and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases, data pipelines and reporting systems.

  • Contribute to AI initiatives including automation, analytics, machine learning integrations and intelligent workflows.

  • Gather business requirements from internal stakeholders and translate them into technical specifications and scalable solutions.

  • Build, test, deploy and maintain web applications and related systems.

  • Monitor, support and maintain the daily operation of application systems, integrations and data services.

  • Contribute to the strategic planning and future design of IT infrastructure, data architecture and business systems.

  • Maintain high-quality coding standards and apply structured software engineering best practices.

  • Troubleshoot, debug and resolve software and integration issues.

  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies, AI tools and modern engineering practices to drive innovation across the business.

About You:

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Extensive experience in software engineering, application development and systems integration.

  • Strong experience with data platforms, APIs and backend application development.

  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, automation tools or data engineering solutions.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a passion for innovation.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

  • Proven track record of delivering projects within tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

  • A strategic mindset focused on delivering business outcomes, not just technical solutions.

  • A passion for continuous learning and staying current with modern technologies and AI advancements.

  • Strong attention to quality, maintainability and best practice development standards.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity in with Python, Node.js, JavaScript, PHP

  • SQL, MySQL, MongoDB

  • HTML, CSS

  • AI/ML frameworks, automation tools or data analytics platforms

  • AWS and cloud-based infrastructure

  • Linux environments

  • REST APIs and web services

  • Mobile and web application development experience

  • Experience with modern data engineering practices and ETL pipelines

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science or related discipline
