About the Company
Our client is a Series A startup building the financial operations platform for the construction industry, a massive, under-digitized market still running on software built decades ago with no APIs and no documentation. After spending years building the rails to read and write across those legacy systems, the team now deploys modern tooling on top for invoicing, expenses, compliance, and billing. They are profitable, growing fast, and backed by leading venture investors.

The Role
You’ll be a hands-on backend/full-stack engineer working on the core systems that unify fragmented financial data across legacy construction software in real time. This is deep, high-scale engineering work with immediate production impact on a lean, flat team.
What you’ll be doing
- Build and own core backend systems that sync financial data across fragmented legacy software in real time
- Take on hard technical challenges: third-party legacy integrations, distributed-systems scaling, real-time data infrastructure
- Ship work that reaches production and delivers customer value immediately
- Help shape engineering architecture and culture
Tech stack: Redis, Postgres, AWS (CDK, EC2)
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in Computer Science (no bootcamp-only or non-CS backgrounds)
- 1–5 years of professional experience as a backend or full-stack engineer, comfortable operating independently with minimal guidance
- A clear track record of excellence, whether from a strong CS program, standout performance at a respected startup, or other notable accomplishments
- Recent experience at an early-to-growth-stage startup, or a genuine, demonstrated desire to work in a startup environment
- Working familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS
- Genuinely excited to work on-site in San Francisco five days a week
- Self-motivated, high-ownership, low-ego, and energized by a fast-paced, high-intensity team
- Primary interest in core software engineering rather than working exclusively on AI/LLM problems
Nice to Haves
- A CS degree from a top-30 undergraduate program in the US or Canada
