Davis Strategic Innovations (DSI) is seeking Software Engineers to support the development of complex, mission-critical defense software. This position is well suited for engineers with strong software development skills and a background solving highly mathematical and physics-based problems.

The successful candidate will work as part of an integrated engineering team developing and enhancing software supporting advanced defense systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, analyze, and enhance mission-critical software.
  • Solve complex mathematical and physics-based engineering problems.
  • Analyze and implement optimization algorithms.
  • Develop software using Ada and/or C++.
  • Utilize MATLAB and Python for software development, analysis, modeling, and scripting.
  • Support software containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Docker, and related technologies.
  • Work within Agile development environments using Jira and Confluence.
  • Support DevSecOps and CI/CD processes using Jenkins, Ansible, Git/GitLab, and related technologies.
  • Develop and operate software within Unix/Linux environments.
  • Read and interpret modeling and simulation products.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, modeling and simulation, test, and other engineering disciplines.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field, ideally Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years of related experience; or Master's degree with 0 years of related experience.
  • Experience solving highly mathematical and physics-based complex problems.
  • Experience analyzing and implementing optimization algorithms.
  • Recent Ada and/or C++ software development experience.
  • Recent MATLAB and Python experience.
  • Experience with software containerization and orchestration, including Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and Docker.
  • Experience with Agile project-management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools and methodologies, including Jenkins, Ansible, Git/GitLab, and CI/CD automation.
  • Unix/Linux operating-system experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret modeling and simulation products.
  • Ability to support an onsite, closed-area work environment.
  • Interim or Active Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience solving complex mathematical and physics-based problems involving fire-control solutions.
  • Strong Linux, scripting, and system-operations experience.
  • Prior experience supporting Missile Defense Agency or similar DoD programs and systems.
  • Experience with automated software requirements testing and analysis.
