The Role: Mid-Level Software Engineers (6 months - Day Rate Contract) - Sydney CBD Hybrid Working
We are currently recruiting Mid-Level Full Stack Software Engineers for a 6-month contract with a leading financial services organisation in Sydney.
The role will join an established delivery team supporting a cloud-first finance platform used across a global investment management business. The position is primarily focused on Python engineering, alongside React.js/UI development, API and backend development, automated testing and cloud delivery.
Essential Job Requirements
Strong commercial experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer
Strong, recent hands-on experience with Python engineering
Strong hands-on experience with React.js and modern UI development
Experience developing and integrating REST APIs
Strong understanding of software engineering principles, testing and CI/CD
Experience working with SQL databases
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively from commencement
Strong communication and collaboration skills within an Agile delivery environment
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of commercial software engineering experience
Proven experience delivering production-grade applications across both backend and frontend environments
Experience with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, Pydantic and pytest highly regarded
Experience with AWS highly regarded
Experience with TypeScript / JavaScript, Node.js or Next.js advantageous
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools advantageous
Financial services or enterprise experience highly regarded
