Software Engineer - DevOps

In this role you will design, implement and optimize applications using Java, Python, or Go, collaborating with stakeholders to shape modules and improve existing code. You’ll uphold software engineering best practices, troubleshoot issues, and adopt relevant technologies to accelerate delivery. You’ll work with cloud and container tech (Kubernetes, AWS) and a big data/microservice stack, contributing to robust, scalable systems. This is a cross-functional role that drives impact across projects and teams, aligning with Quest Global’s mission to solve complex engineering problems.

• Estimate, plan, and implement applications in Java or Python or Go
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver new modules or enhancements
• Evaluate and improve existing codebase following software engineering best practices
• Troubleshoot issues and assess solution options with pros/cons
• Stay updated on new technologies and adopt relevant tools
• Participate in peer reviews and apply engineering standards
• Deliver against project objectives and timelines
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience and AWS knowledge
• Work with databases and middleware (Postgres, Kafka, Redis) and big data stack (Spark, Flink)
• Contribute to micro-service architecture and service mesh
• UI development experience

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Proficiency in at least one of Java, Python, JavaScript, or Go
• Backend development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed systems, information retrieval, networking, or systems/security software development
• Familiarity with Docker and containerd
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or CodeDeploy)
• Strong written and verbal communication across teams
