Experience 2–5 years We are looking for a mid-level backend developer who can work independently on integrations, understand existing systems and business logic, and take ownership of problems from investigation through implementation and resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Understand and work with our existing Django/Python architecture, codebase, and business logic.
  2. Design, develop, test, and maintain third-party API integrations and integration modules.
  3. Work with APIs, authentication, webhooks, data synchronization, error handling, rate limits, retries, and other integration challenges.
  4. Investigate and resolve issues reported by users or identified internally, with a focus on finding and fixing the root cause, not just the immediate symptom.
  5. Build solutions that are secure, reliable, efficient, scalable, and maintainable.
  6. Write clean, well-structured code and maintain appropriate documentation, tests, and code reviews.
  7. Work closely with the core team to understand requirements, identify edge cases, and recommend practical technical solutions.
  8. Identify opportunities to improve existing systems, integrations, performance, reliability, and development practices.

Required Qualifications

  1. 2–5 years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Python and Django.
  2. Strong experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
  3. Practical experience with API authentication, including OAuth and token-based authentication.
  4. Experience working with webhooks, API rate limits, pagination, retries, error handling, and data synchronization.
  5. Solid understanding of relational databases and ORMs, preferably Django ORM.
  6. Experience integrating with at least one e-commerce platform or other complex third-party platform such as Shopify, Amazon, eBay, WooCommerce, etc.
  7. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate unfamiliar issues and identify root causes.
  8. Good understanding of secure coding practices, authentication, authorization, and protection of sensitive data.
  9. Ability to read and understand an existing codebase and work effectively within an established architecture.
  10. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Experience working with e-commerce workflows, including products, variants, inventory, orders, pricing, customers, and catalog structures.
  2. Experience building or maintaining data synchronization systems between multiple platforms.
  3. Familiarity with background jobs, queues, scheduled tasks, or asynchronous processing.
  4. Experience working with cloud platforms, logging/monitoring tools, CI/CD, or production debugging.
  5. Exposure to additional programming languages, frameworks, databases, or third-party platforms.
  6. Experience improving existing systems rather than only developing new features from scratch.

What We Value Beyond technical skills, we value developers who:

  • Take ownership instead of waiting for instructions.
  • Think about the actual problem and its root cause, not just the assigned task.
  • Are comfortable investigating and solving unfamiliar problems independently.
  • Ask the right questions before jumping into implementation.
  • Continuously learn and improve their technical skills.
  • Care about the quality and reliability of what they build.
  • Are willing to experiment, make mistakes, learn, and improve.
  • Communicate clearly and work well with the rest of the team.
