Software Engineer

Compensation: $50k – $60k

### About Ewith.me Ewith.me is an AI-powered learning and productivity platform building practical tools for students and learners. We are building a fast, modern web platform that combines learning tools, AI-powered features, educational content, and productivity utilities into a single experience. ### The Role We’re looking for a **Software Engineer** who enjoys building products end-to-end and taking ownership of real problems. You’ll work across the frontend and backend, build new features, improve platform performance and reliability, integrate AI capabilities, and help shape the technical architecture as Ewith.me scales. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly on features used by real users and see your work go from idea to production. ### What You'll Do * Build and ship new features across the Ewith.me platform * Develop responsive, high-performance web experiences * Work across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and third-party integrations * Build and integrate AI-powered learning and productivity features * Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and security * Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code * Debug production issues and improve system reliability * Design APIs, data models, and technical solutions for new features * Work closely with product and content teams to turn ideas into working products * Identify technical debt and continuously improve the codebase * Take ownership of projects from planning through deployment and iteration ### What We're Looking For * Strong programming and software engineering fundamentals * Experience building and shipping web applications * Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web development * Experience with frontend frameworks such as React or similar * Experience working with backend APIs and databases * Understanding of REST APIs, authentication, databases, and web architecture * Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows * Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code * Strong debugging and problem-solving skills * Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects * Willingness to learn new technologies and work across the stack ### Nice to Have * Experience with AI/LLM APIs or open-source language models * Experience building AI-powered products * Experience with Python, Node.js, or similar backend technologies * Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases * Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment * Experience building education, SaaS, productivity, or consumer web products * Experience working in an early-stage startup or small engineering team ### What You'll Get * High ownership and autonomy * Opportunity to work on a product from the ground up * Exposure to AI, education technology, product engineering, and growth * Direct impact on product and technical decisions * Fast learning and significant responsibility * A chance to work on problems across the entire technology stack ### Who Will Thrive Here You’ll do well at Ewith.me if you: * Like building things rather than just maintaining them * Are comfortable figuring things out independently * Care about the quality and performance of what you ship * Enjoy working across different parts of a product * Can balance speed with good engineering practices * Are excited by the opportunity to have your work directly influence a growing product **If you enjoy solving difficult problems, shipping quickly, and building products that people actually use, we’d love to hear from you.**
