Software Engineer | Technical Consultancy

Want real autonomy, genuinely interesting technical problems and work that matters across policing, national security and central government?

Our client is a fast scaling boutique technical consultancy working exclusively in that space, with a strong leadership team and real delivery credibility. They're now hiring several Software Engineers across a range of stacks and seniorities who can contribute from day one.

They offer end to end project visibility, serious investment in your development and strong packages and bonuses, with routes to eDV clearance for those who want to work on the most sensitive national security programmes. Progression from there is yours to shape, whether that's management, architecture or staying deep on the technical side.

The Role

You'll be building and delivering software as part of capability development programmes across national security, policing and the wider public sector. The work moves at pace and the impact is tangible, whether that's designing resilient backend services, integrating complex data sources or building the tooling that analysts rely on to make critical decisions.

Technical Requirements

3+ years of commercial engineering experience. They're open across the stack, with strong backend or cloud experience the priority.

  • Backend: Python, Java, C++, C# or Rust
  • Cloud: AWS, Azure or Kubernetes
  • Frontend: TypeScript or React (nice to have)

Who They're Looking For

They want genuine problem solvers who enjoy working closely with customers and colleagues. As part of a smaller, rapidly growing business you'll have real influence over how you and the company develop, plus the chance to mentor more junior engineers.

Some level of experience within Defence, National Security or Policing / Justice is required.

What They Offer

  • Strong base salary plus 16% annual bonus
  • Generous training budget and careers coach
  • Hybrid working
  • Real progression in a business that genuinely invests in its people
  • Great working environment with a modern office
  • + more

Security Clearance

Applicants must hold active SC or DV clearance. (It is not a requirement to obtain DV clearance)
