About the Department

• Franklin Templeton’s Artificial Intelligence Platform and AI Investment Group delivers shared engineering, data, and artificial intelligence capabilities across investment, distribution, and corporate functions. Small, multidisciplinary agile teams bring together software engineers, artificial intelligence specialists, technical leads, product partners, architects, and governance stakeholders. The collaborative, evidence-driven environment enables you to build trusted enterprise platforms, influence engineering standards, and deepen your technical leadership expertise.

How You Will Add Value?

Core Responsibilities

• You will lead backend service design and delivery.
• You will build secure Application Programming Interfaces and reusable libraries.
• You will translate ambiguous requirements into practical technical solutions.
• You will establish testing, performance, security, and operational standards.
• You will embed monitoring, alerting, and failure handling into services.

Strategic Responsibilities

• You will improve platform security, reliability, observability, and supportability.
• You will lead incident analysis and implement lasting solutions.
• You will assess emerging tools against measurable delivery value.
• You will apply artificial intelligence to improve systems and engineering workflows.
• You will plan how AI-enabled solutions are tested and maintained.

Team & Collaboration

• You will lead technical reviews and guide engineering decisions.
• You will mentor engineers and strengthen team capability.
• You will collaborate with product, architecture, data, and governance teams.
• You will document designs, decisions, risks, and operational requirements.

What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role?

Experience, Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Five or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience delivering distributed, data-intensive, or backend production systems.
• Proven technical leadership and engineering mentorship experience.

Technical Skills

• 4+ years of experience in Advanced Python and Structured Query Language expertise.
• Microservices, system integration, and Application Programming Interface development.
• Automated testing, containerization, observability, and secure coding.
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Large Language Models, AI agents, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
• Model Context Protocol server development.
• Cloud platforms, Kubernetes, relational databases, and Extract, Transform, Load processes.

Soft Skills

• Strong technical judgement and structured problem-solving.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Effective collaboration across technical, product, and control functions.

Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM IST
