Software Engineer (Full-Stack, AI-Assisted Development)
Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 7,500 per month

Ekomas is a California-based software company headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Ramon, CA). Our Asia Pacific office in Alam Damai, Kuala Lumpur, is a small, focused engineering team that delivers efficient, high-quality software for clients across e-commerce, platforms and AI-driven solutions.
We have fully embraced AI-driven development. AI supports our whole delivery process, from planning and UI/UX to coding, testing, deployment and production support, but our engineers remain fully responsible for reviewing, testing and approving everything that ships.
The Role
Join our KL engineering team to build and maintain web applications for real clients, covering frontend, backend, APIs, databases and integrations. You will work with tools like Claude, ChatGPT every day, and you must be able to spot when AI output is wrong, insecure or over-engineered, and fix it before release. We work spec-first: clear written requirements drive AI-assisted builds, and engineers own the quality of the result.
What You'll Do
Turn business requirements and UI/UX flows into clean, secure, production-ready features
Write clear specs and give AI tools the right technical and business context, within our established project structure and conventions
Review AI-generated code for logic, security, performance and maintainability
Debug issues across frontend, backend, databases, servers and production
Own your features from development through deployment and support
Help improve our AI-assisted development workflows
Requirements
Solid fundamentals in frontend, backend, APIs, databases and web architecture
Practical, hands-on experience using AI coding tools
Strong debugging and logical problem-solving skills
Able to understand business logic and translate it into reliable implementations
Able to learn unfamiliar code, APIs and tools quickly and independently
An eye for UI/UX detail: you notice when a screen is confusing or inconsistent
Honest about what you don't know, and comfortable saying "I'm not sure, let me check"
Linux, server, database and networking knowledge
Able to work independently and take ownership
Full-time, office-based in Alam Damai, Kuala Lumpur; willing to respond to genuine production emergencies outside office hours
Experience
Fresh graduates are welcome. Experience helps, but we care more about how you think, how quickly you learn and how well you work with AI tools.
