Help shape the future of how games are built, tested, and played.

EA is investing in new ways to use AI to improve how games are developed, tested, and experienced. For these technologies to succeed, they need access to large amounts of gameplay data, including video, player inputs, telemetry, and other information collected across EA's games.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to help build and expand the technology that makes this possible. You'll work on systems that capture complex gameplay data with minimal impact on game performance, handle large volumes of information, and make that data searchable and accessible to teams building AI solutions.

This is an opportunity to solve challenging engineering problems across game engines, consoles, and cloud services. Rather than building for a single game, you'll develop technology that supports multiple EA titles and enables new capabilities across the company.

EA is exploring new technologies that could transform how players create, share, and experience games.

This role offers the opportunity to solve challenging engineering problems, work across EA's biggest games, and build technology that enables emerging AI capabilities. As part of EA's Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) Technology team, you'll help expand proven solutions beyond QVS, working with game developers and AI teams to shape the future of game development.

Responsibilities

  • Build technology that enables AI: Develop systems that capture rich, detailed gameplay data and make it available to teams building new AI capabilities.

  • Solve challenging engineering problems: Work on high-performance systems that collect and process large amounts of data without impacting gameplay.

  • Work across EA's games and platforms: Develop technology that works across different game engines, consoles, and cloud services.

  • Build for scale: Design and develop services, APIs, and SDKs that support multiple games and large volumes of gameplay data.

  • Explore new technical challenges: Investigate new ways to capture and use data from complex game systems as technology and requirements evolve.

  • Own solutions from design to delivery: Help make technical decisions, develop solutions, and see your work used by teams across EA.

  • Collaborate across disciplines: Work directly with game developers, platform engineers, and AI teams to understand their needs and deliver solutions.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a track record of designing, building, and maintaining production software.

  • Experience working with game engines, game clients, or other real-time software.

  • Understanding of APIs, software architecture, and how different systems communicate.

  • Experience investigating and resolving complex technical problems.

  • Experience using AI coding agents as part of software development, including writing, debugging, testing, and maintaining code.

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with engineers across different teams.

Preferred

  • Strong C++ programming and debugging skills.

  • Experience with Frostbite, Unreal Engine, Unity, or custom game engines.

  • Experience developing SDKs, engine plugins, or shared software libraries.

  • Experience with cloud services, APIs, or data pipelines.

  • Familiarity with gameplay recording, controller inputs, telemetry, or replay systems.

  • Experience developing software for consoles and other gaming platforms.

  • Familiarity with how gameplay data is collected and used by AI systems.

  • Experience with multiplayer game systems and client/server networking.
