Software Engineer

Giftaway® Inc. is an eGift® platform that enables businesses to reward and incentivize employees and customers. The platform powers the eGift programs of the Philippines' top merchants like SM, Rustan's, Mercury Drug, Max's Group, Jollibee, Group, and more. Giftaway® offers a convenient way to shop, making it easier for customers to purchase and redeem digital gift cards.

Role Description

This is a full-time role as a Software Engineer. The Software Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining the back-end or front-end of our web platform, developing and testing software, and utilizing object-oriented programming concepts to improve the quality of our software.

Key Responsibilities

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Identify and fix software defects, bugs, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with product managers and other stakeholders to define software requirements.
• Design and implement software solutions that meet the needs of the business and its customers.
• Conduct thorough testing of software applications to ensure reliability, stability, and performance.
• Collaborate with other engineers to troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues.
• Optimize software performance through code refactoring, profiling, and other techniques.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure our software remains cutting-edge.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong educational background in Computer Science or related field
• Proficient in Back-end/Front-end Web Development, Software Development, and Programming
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Good understanding of database systems and version control
• Experience with cloud-based services and deployment would be helpful
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Familiarity with different software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum
