Software Engineer
Summary
Build and enhance Windows desktop audio and gaming software (SteelSeries GG, Nahimic) using C#, .NET, and XAML; collaborate with firmware, UX, and QA teams.
About the Role
As a Software Engineer II, you will take our gaming software platform, SteelSeries GG and Nahimic, to the next level. You will write robust code, create unit tests, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver impactful products.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and deliver new features and enhancements for Nahimic and SteelSeries GG.
- Collaborate with Firmware, Driver, DSP, QA, UX, and Product teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Contribute to improving application stability, performance, and maintainability.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
- Provide feedback on upcoming hardware products and help shape cross‑functional integration.
- 3+ years of software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with C# and .NET application development.
- Experience developing Windows desktop applications using UWP, WinUI, WPF, or similar frameworks.
- Good understanding of software architecture and design patterns such as MVVM.
- Experience designing and implementing user interfaces with XAML.
- Experience using Git and GitHub for source control, code reviews, and collaborative development.
- Experience writing unit tests and integration tests.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an Agile development environment.
- Passion for learning new technologies and continuously improving engineering practices.
- Experience with Windows audio technologies, APIs, or multimedia application development.
- Experience working with audio products, gaming peripherals, or consumer electronics.
- Experience with ReactJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, or other modern web technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with device communication protocols and hardware integrations.
- Familiarity with C++ development and memory management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Store application deployment, certification, and release processes.
- Experience using AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar.
- Ability to evaluate, validate, and review AI‑generated code while maintaining high standards of software quality, maintainability, and security.
- Within 1 month: Become familiar with Nahimic and SteelSeries software ecosystem, development processes, and standards; set up your development environment and deliver your first production bug fix, enhancement, or feature.
- Within 3 months: Design, develop, and deliver new features and enhancements for Nahimic and SteelSeries GG; collaborate with Firmware, Driver, DSP, QA, UX, and Product teams to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Within 9 months: Independently architect and deliver significant software features across the platforms; drive improvements via refactoring, automated testing, and technical debt reduction; evaluate new technologies and recommend adoption; troubleshoot complex issues involving application, firmware, driver, and hardware interactions.
