Interns and university graduates at Uber don’t just observe - they build. In this role, you will take ownership of the very first step of every Uber journey, contributing to the core Mobile SDKs that power navigation, routing, and safety for millions of riders and drivers. You will be part of a team that moves real people and real assets around their cities, solving high-impact problems under real-world constraints from day one.

Rate of Pay: $153,000 to $169,000 per year

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and test software applications using company technology stack.
  • Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, developments, and projects in order to provide recommendations to resolve technical issues.
  • Support the company's business operations and improve engineering productivity.
  • Build software components that can be integrated into a fully functional software system.
  • Solve production issues in product and system reliability.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to build innovative driver pricing products, prototyping, launching, and scaling to the global marketplace.
  • Build an observability ecosystem to ensure the correctness and reliability of backend services.
  • Build a solid data infrastructure for simulation and modeling.
  • Participate in the team’s eng excellence efforts, such as oncall duty, incident management.
  • May telecommute.

Basic Qualifications

  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
  • Position requires:
  • Python, Java or Golang, and Angular.js;
  • SQL, Cassandra, Redis, or MySQL.;
  • Data structures, algorithms development, and system design;
  • Debugging and monitoring for production services;
  • Version control such as GitHub and SVN;
  • Real-time event-driven systems (WebSockets & Pub/Sub);
  • Experience in end-to-end web application development cycle;
  • Open source development experience.
