A Software Engineer III demonstrates proficiency in the Android platform, designing complex subsystems and mentoring less experienced developers. The role focuses primarily on development (80% of time) and includes the following responsibilities.
- Provide input to coding standards
- Produce estimates for tasks and participate in large initiative planning
- Write performant, stable, and maintainable code with a focus on security
- Promote code reusability and refactor for cross‑team reuse
- Ensure unit test coverage and meet integration testing requirements
- Document code and external system documentation
- Design components and component interactions
- Assist project management in decomposing requirements into tasks
- Deeply understand libraries and common components
- Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback
- Implement new patterns and improve architecture
- Participate in interviews and support hiring decisions
- Mentor new or inexperienced team members
Native App Qualifications
- 7+ years of overall development experience with an object‑oriented language
- Expert in Kotlin and/or Swift
- Experience with Xcode and/or Android Studio
- Experience with Java and/or Objective‑C
- Experience consuming RESTful JSON web services
- Experience with Agile development and unit testing
- Experience with push notifications, location services
- Experience with build tools like Gradle and Fastlane
- Experience with analytics frameworks such as Firebase or Adobe
- Experience with architectural patterns (MVC, MVVM, VIPER, etc.)
- Experience with dependency management tools (Cocoapods, Swift Package Manager, Gradle)
- Experience with accessibility frameworks
- Experience with profiling and debugging tools
- Experience publishing applications to app stores
