Software Engineer III, Android, Rich Communication Services for Business

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

• Create external developer facing APIs and underlying infrastructure.
  
• Measure and monitor the impact of various features across Business Communication ecosystem.
• Create better user experience by fixing critical bugs/issues raised by external developers (partners).
• Work with Project Managers, UX (User Experience), DevRel (Developer Relations), Business Development, Support and Engineering leads to deliver critical product/system metrics to help understand various nuances of the product.
• Experience with Android development.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 year of experience with software programming in C++, Java, Python or Go.
• Experience with full-stack development.

Preferred qualifications:

• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building and scaling large-scale services.
  
• Familiarity with APIs (design and development) and SDKs.
• Familiarity with Flume.
• Familiarity with Messaging.
• Experience with Android development.
