Shipping & handling responsibilities

- Build and maintain carrier API integrations, improving the reliability and maintainability of existing ones as you go.
- Own the end-to-end quality of your work, from design through build, release, and monitoring in production.
- Partner with product, support, and other engineering teams to understand what capabilities they need from carriers, and turn that into working software.
- Build internal tools that improve how Shippo launches, operates, and troubleshoots carrier integrations.
- Contribute to the team's technical direction through story refinement, design reviews, and code reviews, raising the quality bar for everyone.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, responding with urgency to operational issues and owning resolution within your area.
- Contribute to the growth of your teammates through peer review, design feedback, documentation, and helping new hires ramp up.
Your shipping requirements
- 4+ years of experience building and shipping production software.
- A track record of delivering software components independently, from design through release and monitoring.

- Comfort debugging and operating distributed systems in production, including participating in on-call.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across teams and time zones.
- Experience giving and receiving thoughtful code and design feedback, and a genuine interest in helping teammates improve.
