Software Engineer III, Filestore
Summary
Google is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain distributed storage solutions for Google Cloud Filestore. The role involves building customer-facing features, improving system reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams on large-scale infrastructure.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

- Be responsible for developing many new customer facing features critical for meeting product business roadmap, as well as enhancing existing infrastructures for better reliability and new requirements.
- Work with peers from other aspects of the product development lifecycle, including all filesystem engineering teams, program management, CP, DP, SRE, UX/UI.
- Participate in the development of new features, infrastructure, and performance improvements in a complex distributed and performance sensitive system.
- Help grow and mentor the team, be a part of a well-experienced group and impact the critical architecture and design decisions.
- Work with product and customers, to best fit future requirements.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Software development experience in Java.
- Knowledge of clustered/distributed and concurrent programming.
- Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and technologies, and knowledge of filesystems and storage.
- Good understanding of distributed systems principles and concepts.
