Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Cloud
Our mission is to provide a suite of highly performant, scalable and reliable mission critical services to enable us to be the domain name system provider of choice for our clients. We are focused on making our products default for all Google Kubernetes Engine users, including Vertex and other AI use cases.
We bridge the gap between applications and networks, both on the public internet and on the customer's private network. Our main issue is managing the high reliability and low latency performance of our planet scale backend service while building out an ever expanding portfolio of new product features.

- Work on the evolution of Cloud Domain Name System product to become default for Google Kubernetes Engine and adapt Cloud features to fulfil AI requirements. Support Cloud Domains, the domain registration in Google Cloud Platform.
- Build new features and lead and own the design process, drive the implementation of designs (in Go, C++/Java code) either directly or leading other developers. Communicate and coordinate with product management, program management and partner engineering teams.
- Grow and evolve existing infrastructure.
- Be able to cross-functionally collaborate and launch coordination with teams. Lead the rollout of features into production, overseeing the launch process.
- Evolve our long-term strategy and provide input to the continual evolution of our platform and strategy.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
- 2 years of experience with software development in Java or Go or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
- 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing accessible technologies.
- Experience in networking protocols, networking, large-scale distributed systems, Cloud, Cloud networking.
- Experience with large distributed systems performance analysis and optimization.
