Software Engineer in Fintech (m/f/d)

Discussion

Summary

Software engineer at Monet, a stealth-mode fintech startup offering flexible online payments (pay later, installments). You'll write and ship production-ready code for backend or mobile features in a small cross-functional team, working with Java/Kotlin or JavaScript, microservices, Hibernate, Docker, and CI/CD.

It is 2026 and online payments are still too inflexible. Order today and pay at the end of the month? Save up for the product you want in three monthly installments? Pay half now and the rest in two installments? At Monet, we make it possible for online shoppers to always stay flexible.
We are funded by well-known business angels who are themselves founders of Unicorns and VC-funded startups. As we're currently in stealth mode, we'd love to tell you more in person.

What can you expect?

  • You have 2–4 years of experience in software development.
  • You hold a degree in Computer Science (or an equivalent qualification).
  • You enjoy working in agile environments and have a hands-on mentality.
  • You have experience in backend or mobile app development and are familiar with scalable software architecture, microservices, Java/Kotlin, or JavaScript.
  • You are familiar with CI/CD tools, Hibernate, and Docker.
  • You have an interest in fintech and possess excellent English language skills (German is optional).
What do we offer?

  • An excellent career path in an up-and-coming environment: your chance to shape a company from the start and grow with it
  • Above average pay and the opportunity to receive company shares
  • The unique opportunity to reshape the online payments industry
  • Valuable learnings from a founding team with years of experience in technology, payment systems and credit risk
  • Find the work style that suits you best with our flexible working model: work remotely, in a hybrid setup, or from our offices in Nuremberg or Munich.
  • Choose your working hours: whether you're an early bird or prefer to sleep in, both are possible.
  • Work with the latest company hardware and choose your preferred operating system (Mac, Windows, or Linux).
What should you bring along?

  • Write and ship production-ready code that has a meaningful and measurable impact on users and the business.
  • Design, develop, and analyze new features and tools that contribute to company growth and revenue.
  • Collaborate with a small, cross-functional team.
  • Work closely with Moneteers across the company, including Engineering, Marketing, Customer Support, and other teams.
