Software Engineer
Summary
The Software Engineer will develop and maintain HRT modules within the HCM suite, utilizing Java, web technologies, and AI-assisted development tools. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design integrations, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high-quality, scalable code delivery.
This position is required for the HRT application development team in Hyderabad and may involve working across any HRT module based on business priorities and product needs.
The candidate should be flexible to work across HRT modules, understand functional and technical requirements, and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with product goals.
The role requires a quick learner who can adapt to new priorities, responsibly use AI-assisted development tools, and validate AI-generated output before implementation.
- Learning new technologies, HRT modules, tools, and AI-assisted development practices.
- Using AI tools responsibly to support development and validate AI-generated output before code changes are committed.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams within HCM to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining integrations with external systems such as I9 Tracker and HRSD content management.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in both development and production environments.
- Participating in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to ensure project goals are met efficiently.
- Lead and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code, following industry best practices and company standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, and implement solutions that meet business objectives.
- Perform code reviews, providing feedback and ensuring adherence to design specifications and coding standards.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance, scalability, and security.
- Prepare and produce software releases, ensuring thorough testing and adherence to release schedules.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and propose improvements to enhance product quality and development processes.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly for code generation, debugging, unit tests, and documentation.
- Review and validate AI-generated code, suggestions, and documentation before implementation.
- Take ownership of new assignments across HRT modules and support changing business priorities.
- 3 + years hands-on experience in Java.
- Hands on experience with latest HTML and Java Script technologies.
- Web Services (REST/SOAP): Knowledge of integrating third-party services using REST or SOAP APIs.
- Database Management: Experience with SQL and working with databases. Strong knowledge of relational concepts.
- Agile/Scrum Methodologies: Experience in working within Agile development environments.
- Debugging and Performance Tuning: Proficiency in diagnosing and improving performance issues in Java applications.
- Considers and treats Unit testing as intrinsically part of work.
- Writing well designed, testable, efficient code.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.

- Hands-on familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools.
- Ability to use AI for code generation, debugging, test case creation, and documentation support.
- Ability to review, validate, and refine AI-generated output for quality, security, maintainability, and coding standards.
- Complete hold on Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Must be able to work with Multi Cultural/National teams, prior experience is a plus.
- Experience with multi-tenant systems.
- Strong ability to effectively articulate complex technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with performance optimization and tuning in large-scale distributed systems
- Ability to work in agile environments and collaborate across teams.
