Software Engineer Intern (AI)

Build AI prototypes (RAG, Agentic AI) using open-source stacks and fine-tune models for business use cases while collaborating with a global engineering team.

Thales Singapore Engineering Competence Centre (ECC) is a well-established R&D and engineering centre serving major customers worldwide in Digital Identity and Security domains ranging from mobile connectivity, IoT, banking & payment to government solutions. Objective:
- Investigate and experiment with open source AI technology stacks and industrial AI service providers.
- Prototype AI features that improve operation efficiencies or enhance customer experiences.
- Support industrialization of Prototypes.
- Research and develop in areas such as RAG, Agentic AI, and AI managed services – build PoC to showcase and inspire new ideas.
- Develop and refine tools/functions that align with specific business unit use cases.
- Explore and apply fine-tuning techniques to customize models for specific domain tasks, optimising their performance and relevance.
- Collaborate closely with the supervisor, gaining insights into AI's role in real-world business applications.
- Education: Computer Science student with a good foundation in Data Science.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, Docker Compose, and basic Linux commands.
- Familiarity with open-source frameworks and tools, including GitHub.

- Open-minded, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Commitment: Able to commit on a full-time basis, for ideally 6 months (or a minimum of 5 months)
- Hands-on experience in latest GenAI research and practical applications.
