About SonicAI
SonicAI is building an AI-native revenue automation platform for B2B finance teams. We use AI agents to automate the entire contract-to-cash lifecycle—from understanding complex customer contracts and generating invoices to usage-based billing, collections, bank reconciliation, and revenue recognition.
Our goal is to help finance teams eliminate manual workflows and operate with intelligent, autonomous AI systems.
We're an early-stage startup, which means you'll work directly with the founding team, take ownership of real product features, and help build systems that solve real-world business problems.
The Role
We're looking for a Software Engineer Intern who enjoys building products, solving challenging engineering problems, and experimenting with new technologies. You'll work across our backend, APIs, databases, and AI-powered workflows to build and ship production features.
This is an opportunity to go beyond writing code for assignments. You'll contribute directly to the product, interact with real customer requirements, and see your work make an impact.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and ship product features across our backend and application stack.
- Build scalable APIs and backend services using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
- Work with databases, data pipelines, and third-party integrations.
- Develop AI-powered workflows and agentic systems for finance automation.
- Integrate with external platforms, process business data, and build reliable automation workflows.
- Debug production issues, improve system performance, and write maintainable code.
- Collaborate closely with the founder to understand customer problems and translate them into technical solutions.
What We're Looking For
- Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Python and a good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, databases, and backend development.
- Experience with Git and an interest in building real-world software.
- A strong bias toward execution—you enjoy taking ideas from concept to implementation.
- Curiosity about AI, LLMs, AI agents, and automation.
- Ownership, willingness to learn, and comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment.
Bonus points if you have:
Experience with FastAPI, Flask, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or cloud infrastructure.
Built personal projects, contributed to open source, or deployed applications used by real users.
Experimented with LLM APIs, AI agents, or workflow automation.
