This is a senior-level engineering opportunity focused on building and operating the internal platforms that enable a high-growth technology organization to move efficiently.
You’ll work across software engineering, platform infrastructure, developer tooling, and corporate technology, with substantial ownership over the systems you build.
The role combines hands-on development with Kubernetes operations, Linux systems, automation, CI/CD, and internal technology support.
You’ll primarily use Go and Rust while creating reproducible environments with Nix/NixOS and operating modern infrastructure on Kubernetes.
Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll work in small, highly autonomous teams where initiative, sound judgment, and end-to-end ownership are highly valued.
You’ll have the opportunity to solve ambiguous technical challenges, improve engineering productivity, and establish reliable, secure, and maintainable systems.
This is a fully remote U.S. position with occasional travel and a strong emphasis on technical excellence, collaboration, and meaningful ownership.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve internal software, services, automation, and technical tooling used across the organization.
- Build production-quality services and operational tools primarily using Go and Rust.
- Build, operate, troubleshoot, and continuously improve Kubernetes-based infrastructure and containerized workloads.
- Create reproducible development and system environments using Nix and/or NixOS.
- Improve developer workflows, CI/CD pipelines, build and release processes, infrastructure management, deployment practices, and overall system reliability.
- Automate corporate IT and operational workflows wherever practical to reduce friction and improve efficiency.
- Support internal technology spanning applications, Linux systems, networking, identity, endpoints, and SaaS platforms.
- Independently investigate unfamiliar or ambiguous technical problems and carry solutions through to completion.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, operations, and business stakeholders to remove technical blockers and deliver complete outcomes.
- Build systems that are secure, reliable, well-tested, documented, maintainable, and operationally sustainable.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction as the organization and its systems evolve.
- Significant professional software engineering experience at a senior level, with a demonstrated ability to own complex technical work independently.
- Strong professional software development experience with Go.
- Practical experience developing systems, services, or tooling with Rust.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience, including deployment, operations, troubleshooting, and management of containerized workloads.
- Experience with Nix and/or NixOS for reproducible development environments, system configuration, or package management.
- Strong Linux and systems-engineering fundamentals.
- Experience designing and maintaining production-quality internal tools, platform services, or infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of networking, APIs, authentication, distributed systems, and related infrastructure concepts.
- Ability to investigate unfamiliar systems, make sound technical decisions, and resolve ambiguous problems without waiting for detailed direction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, autonomous, and remote working environment.
- Experience in areas such as platform engineering, developer experience, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, SSO, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, endpoint management, networking, VPNs, observability, secrets management, security engineering, GitOps, SaaS administration, or zero-trust architecture is a plus.
- Strong ownership mentality, with a willingness to address problems beyond narrowly defined responsibilities and focus on team-level outcomes.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Salary: $175,000–$250,000 base pay.
- Work arrangement: Fully remote within the United States.
