Software Engineer (Java with AWS) | Contract

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to analyse business requirements, design and develop enterprise applications, and ensure the successful implementation and maintenance of business-critical systems. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in Java-based technologies, web application development, database design, and system integration, along with excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills. Responsibilities Gather, analyse, and translate business and user requirements into detailed functional and technical application specifications to guide development Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain enterprise and web-based applications, ensuring robust database design and seamless system integration Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with development standards, quality assurance protocols, and project timelines Manage vendor relationships and coordinate project activities to meet deadlines and quality expectations Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical challenges and optimize application performance Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clear understanding of requirements and solutions Required competencies and certifications Minimum 5 years of experience in systems analysis, application design (including database design), development, implementation, and quality assurance Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, project management, and vendor management skills Ability to work independently to elicit user requirements and translate them into technical solutions Preferred competencies and qualifications Proficiency in programming languages and web technologies including Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, and AJAX Experience with frameworks and libraries such as Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Web), Angular/AngularJS, React, Node.js, Hibernate, JPA, JSF, PrimeFaces, Oracle ADF, Struts, and SCA Knowledge of web services and integration technologies including REST, SOAP, WSRP, IBM MQ, SOA, and rules engines Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, MS SQL Server, and DB2 Experience with application servers including JBoss/WildFly, WebLogic, and WebSphere Skilled in development tools and IDEs like Eclipse, JDeveloper, NetBeans, and Web IDE Understanding of platforms and operating systems including AWS, Linux, Oracle Solaris, Unix, and Windows Additional knowledge of Apache Spark, responsive web design, enterprise application architecture, and messaging systems Other Information Employment type: Contract - 24 months (renewable) Location: Novena, Singapore Working Hours: 8:30AM to 6:00PM (Mon-Fri) Salary: $6000 - 8000 per month (no bonus) Working Arrangement: Full Onsite/Hybrid EA Licence No. 20S0237
