Software Engineer

• Design, implement, unit test, and document new integrations, device interfaces, and modules for the Connect environment
• Diagnose, analyze, and fix reported defects and deviations
• Perform technical implementation work and collaborate with customers
• Participate in technical design discussions and prepare design documents for global R&D and customer projects
• Conduct code reviews and maintain technical documentation
• Collaborate seamlessly with R&D, testing, and support teams
• Organize internal training for colleagues when needed
• Use agentic AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude, and Gemini in daily software development

Requirements

• Experience in Java development
• Suitable higher education degree, e.g. computer science or Bachelor/Master of Engineering (AMK/DI)
• At least 3 years of IT industry experience, primarily in Java and JavaScript programming and integrations/APIs
• Knowledge of relational databases, e.g. Oracle or MS SQL Server
• Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, version control, and unit testing
• Strong logical reasoning, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
• Fluent working proficiency in Finnish and English
• Readiness to work in an international, multicultural team
• Experience with device integrations, APIs, or other system integrations is an advantage
• Experience working with customers or in customer projects is an advantage
• Experience with agentic AI tools such as Cursor, Claude, Gemini, or Abacus and AI/ML basics is an advantage
• Knowledge of modern UI technologies such as React and Servlet, jQuery, or XML technologies is an advantage
• Knowledge of laboratory systems or the LabVantage platform is an advantage
