Summary
Designs, builds, and maintains enterprise Java applications and RESTful backend services for mission-critical systems, using Spring Boot, MariaDB, Docker/Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD in an Agile environment. Requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland polygraph.
Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking
to hire a Software Engineer Level 1 or Level 2 for a great opportunity in
the Annapolis Junction, MD area.
A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a MD Polygraph required. No CCA's
will be accepted at this time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java
applications using Spring Boot and modern software engineering best
practices.
- Develop
scalable RESTful APIs and backend services supporting mission-critical
applications and high-performance enterprise systems.
- Design,
optimize, and troubleshoot relational database solutions using MariaDB and
other enterprise database technologies.
- Support
application modernization initiatives through containerization, Kubernetes
deployments, and continuous improvements to system architecture.
- Participate
in technical design sessions, architecture discussions, code reviews,
troubleshooting, and Agile software development activities.
- Develop
and maintain automated testing solutions and GitLab CI/CD pipelines to
improve software quality, deployment efficiency, and operational
reliability.
- Collaborate
with cross-functional engineering teams using Jira and Confluence while
supporting the complete software development lifecycle.
Requirements
A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a MD Polygraph required. No CCA's
will be accepted at this time.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related
technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Candidates
without Bachelors degrees will require an additional 4 years of software
engineering experience.
- For a SWE Level 1 a minimum
of seven (7) years of software engineering experience
on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity will be required.
- For a SWE Level 2 a minimum
of fourteen (14) years of software engineering experience
on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity will be required.
- Experience
developing Java enterprise applications using Spring Boot or similar
modern frameworks.
- Experience
developing RESTful APIs and working with relational databases such as
MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar technologies.
- Experience
with container technologies (Docker or Podman), Kubernetes, or other
modern application deployment platforms.
- Experience
working in Agile development environments using Git-based source control,
CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
- Security
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph, no CCAs will be accepted at this time.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience developing Angular or other modern web
applications.
- Experience
with microservices architecture, application modernization, or
cloud-native software development.
- Experience
implementing GitLab CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps best practices.
- Experience
tuning SQL performance and supporting high-volume enterprise applications.
- Experience
using Jira and Confluence to support Agile software development.
- Strong
troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills across application,
database, and deployment technologies.
- Experience
supporting enterprise software within secure or classified environments.
