Requirements:- Strong software development background with experience in governance, technical leadership and continuous improvement

- Experience designing and delivering software platforms, integrations or services into operational or production environments
- Experience designing for scalability, resilience, maintainability and operational supportability

- Experience with engineering standards and technical design reviews
- Experience with architecture assurance and production readiness
- Experience with software development lifecycles and technical governance
- Establish and maintain software engineering standards, practices and governance across our organisation
- Act as the technical authority for our internally developed applications, integrations, automation solutions and service platforms
- Analyse existing technical services and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, supportable and operationally ready before entering production
- Provide technical leadership, design assurance and engineering oversight throughout the software development lifecycle
- Review technical designs against non-functional requirements including availability, performance, security and supportability
- Manage one internal developer and oversee external software development partners, ensuring work meets agreed technical standards and requirements
- Promote engineering best practice, mentoring and the development of software engineering capability
- Contribute to the design and continual improvement of strategically important internal platforms and services
- Drive the adoption of CI/CD, automation and modern engineering practices
- Identify and reduce technical debt, engineering rework and production defects
- Evaluate emerging technologies, development tools and engineering approaches, making recommendations to our CTO
