Software Engineer (Level 2)
Summary
Build AI-powered security tools in Python that automate threat detection, alert triage, and reporting, integrating with Okta, SentinelOne, and cloud services.
Location: Av. Hidalgo #2404, Colonia Obispado (Torre TOP), Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote).
Important: We will only consider candidates who have fluent conversational English, as this role requires daily interaction with international teams, and who currently reside in Monterrey or the surrounding metropolitan area.

We are currently looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Global Cybersecurity team. In this role, you will develop intelligent tools, automation solutions, and AI-powered applications that strengthen NOV's global technology infrastructure.

What You'll Do
- Develop security tools and automation solutions using Python and other programming languages to enhance cybersecurity operations.
- Design AI-powered workflows using Large Language Models (LLMs) to automate tasks such as:
- Security alert prioritization and classification.
- Security incident summarization.
- Automated audit and reporting.
- Identity and access policy explanation and validation.
- Build integrations with platforms such as Okta, SentinelOne, Zscaler, and other security technologies through REST APIs.
- Develop secure connectors that enable enterprise use of OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and other LLM services.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and embed security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, and Data Science teams to develop new automation solutions.
- Ensure applications comply with secure development, auditing, logging, and data protection standards.
- Participate in innovation initiatives that accelerate the responsible adoption of Artificial Intelligence across NOV.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent conversational English (daily collaboration with international teams).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience developing software with Python.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience developing automation tools or internal software solutions.
- Knowledge of modern authentication protocols (OAuth2, OIDC).
- Experience using Git and version control.
- Understanding of secure software development best practices.
- Interest or experience working with cybersecurity technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with:
- OpenAI API, Azure OpenAI, or LLM-based applications.
- Cybersecurity process automation.
- Okta, Azure AD (Microsoft Entra ID), SentinelOne, or Zscaler.
- Terraform, GitHub Actions, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Docker, Kubernetes, or Serverless technologies.
- Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Event-driven architectures (Webhooks, Pub/Sub, Queues).
- Logging, observability, or SIEM platforms.
- MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, or similar.
