We are looking for a passionate and customer-focused Software Engineer – Medical Applications (Ultrasound) to join our ViewPoint team and help shape the next generation of ultrasound reporting and workflow solutions.

You will work at the intersection of healthcare and technology, collaborating with product owners, product managers, UX designers, clinicians, and fellow software engineers to build intuitive, scalable, and clinically meaningful applications. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to software that supports patient diagnosis and care across specialties such as Obstetrics, Gynecology, Cardiovascular, and Gastrointestinal imaging.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions supporting ultrasound reporting and clinical workflows.
  • Develop and integrate structured medical reporting solutions using TypeScript, XML, JSON, and SQL databases.
  • Collaborate with product owners, clinicians, and domain experts to understand user needs, define requirements, and translate them into high-quality technical solutions.
  • Partner with UX designers to create intuitive and efficient user experiences.
  • Explore, evaluate, and apply emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to enhance product capabilities, improve user experiences, and accelerate innovation and the development process.
  • Participate in agile development activities including sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to software quality through automated testing, peer reviews, and continuous integration practices.
  • Support interoperability and integration with healthcare IT ecosystems.
  • Help drive innovation in digital ultrasound workflows and reporting solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Computing, Medical Engineering, or an equivalent university degree

  • You have a strong software engineering background with a deep interest in clinical workflows, or you come with a clinical background and want to advance into building software solutions
  • Professional software engineering experience (medior level), ideally in medical software
  • Experience in agile software development, processes and tools (e.g. Bitbucket/GitHub, JIRA)
  • Professional experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, XML, JSON, and SQL
  • Experience in using AI tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar AI-assisted development tools) to improve quality, efficiency, and workflows in software development
  • Collaborative team player and open to continuous development
  • Mindset of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Professional-level English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of clinical workflows and medical terminology and ideally SNOMED CT
  • Experience with Java, C++, Angular, NestJS, REST APIs, and modern web application architecture
  • Knowledge of ultrasound imaging, reporting, and workflows in OB, GYN, cardiovascular, or gastrointestinal ultrasound
  • Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and healthcare information systems such as FHIR, HL7, and DICOM
