Your Role
As a Software Engineer, you will develop and manage GIS solutions to support OSP fiber network design, engineering, and construction planning.
- Develop and manage GIS solutions to support OSP fiber network design, engineering, and construction planning.
- Build custom geoprocessing tools and automate GIS workflows using Python, including ArcPy, Pandas, and NumPy.
- Develop and maintain interactive web‑based mapping applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript, Leaflet, or OpenLayers.
- Integrate GIS data with CAD platforms such as AutoCAD and MicroStation to support telecom network planning initiatives.
- Perform spatial analysis, route optimization, feasibility assessments, and cost estimation for fiber network projects.
- Configure and administer ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Portal for ArcGIS environments while maintaining GIS datasets and network assets.
Qualifications
Non‑negotiables:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in GIS development, preferably supporting telecommunications, engineering, or construction projects.
- Strong proficiency with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related Esri technologies.
- Experience with Python scripting for GIS automation, including ArcPy, Jupyter Notebooks, GDAL, Pandas, and NumPy.
- Knowledge of SQL databases such as PostGIS, SQL Server, or Oracle and experience managing spatial data environments.
Preferred Skills / Expertise:
- Experience developing custom web GIS applications using JavaScript frameworks and mapping libraries such as ArcGIS API for JavaScript, React, Angular, Leaflet, or OpenLayers.
- Familiarity with fiber network GIS modeling, including conduit pathways, splice points, pole infrastructure, and telecom asset management.
- Experience integrating CAD data from AutoCAD or MicroStation into GIS workflows.
- Hands‑on experience with Esri Utility Network, FME (Feature Manipulation Engine), or cloud-based GIS environments such as AWS, Azure, or Esri Managed Cloud Services.
- Knowledge of broadband expansion initiatives, FCC broadband mapping requirements, AI/ML applications in GIS, and telecom OSP design principles.
