Software Engineer (Node.js)

Location: Punggol (Hybrid)

Job Type: Full-Time Contract (Renewable basis)

Key Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of full-stack application development
• Develop responsive, lightweight, and user-friendly frontend components using modern JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and browser APIs.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and frameworks such as Express.js or NestJS.
• Develop and optimise SQL and NoSQL databases to support high-volume and concurrent application workloads.
• Implement caching and performance optimisation techniques using technologies such as Redis.
• Manage and support cloud-based application environments, particularly on AWS.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and containerisation technologies such as Docker.
• Implement application monitoring, logging, error tracking, automated testing, and performance optimisation to ensure reliability and system stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable digital solutions.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and DOM APIs.
• Hands-on experience developing backend applications and APIs using Node.js, Express.js / NestJS
• Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL database design
• Familiarity with Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and modern software deployment practices.
• Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms would be advantageous.
• Knowledge or practical experience with web accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.1, ARIA, and screen reader testing would be highly advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and software engineering skills.
