Summary
NAOVI is hiring a full-time, 100% onsite Software Engineer in Chantilly, VA to implement Kubernetes-based infrastructure and applications for a government enterprise language services team. Day-to-day work spans full-stack development with Angular, Java/Spring, Scala, Solr/Elastic, Postgres, and DevOps tooling; U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI with FS polygraph are mandatory.

Job Description
NAOVI is seeking a Software Engineer to support the enterprise language services team. The selected candidate would have a deep understanding of Kubernetes, containerization and cloud-native technologies. The selected candidate will be responsible for the implementation of the project’s Kubernetes-based infrastructure and applications. The tasks are as follows:
Mandatory Skills
- Current Active TSSCI w/FS polygraph security clearance.
- At this time our company is not offering clearance sponsorships.
- All candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Demonstrated experience in technical project management with full lifecycle software development.
- Demonstrated experience estimating and managing software development schedules and deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Demonstrated experience developing detailed software design and associated deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience in translating customer and system requirements into design.
- Demonstrated experience designing new system interfaces.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating, supporting, and participating in program meetings and reviews.
- Demonstrated experience developing Single Page Applications using HTML5, CSS3, and Angular 21+.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing Applications and RESTful web services using the following technologies or something similar: Solr, Elastic, Postgres, Java, Scala, RDS, Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Boot.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with non-relational database systems such as DynamoDB (other on-the-job database experience accepted).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with and troubleshooting of Internet/Web related protocols and technologies (e.g. Tomcat, Nodejs, Web Services, and SSL).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing JUnit and Jasmine tests and experience with testing platforms such as Jest or Karma.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Nexus.
Desired Skills and demonstrated Experience
Skills and demonstrated knowledge that are highly desired but not required to perform the work include:
- Demonstrated recent experience with the agency suite of applications providing repository and search services that enables the agency to find the information they need.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience developing user interfaces using Angular Material.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced, Lean Agile environment.
- Demonstrated recent experience with government agency profile and alerting services that represents a "prospective search" tool that sifts through incoming stream looking for items that match a user’s profile and alerts upon match.
- Demonstrated recent experience with the governments agency discovery and recommendation services that allows a user to discover data they wouldn’t ordinarily know about and represents an information filtering system that leverages content-based approaches to discriminate between interesting and uninteresting items for a user.
- Demonstrated experience with the government agency’s Pre-NLP processing pipeline to remove boilerplate text, portion marks and non-narrative content.
- Demonstrated experience with the government agency’s federated search service that allows users to federate searches across external data systems.
- Demonstrated experience with the government agency’s tagging and folder services and applications that allow users to curate and organize documents.
- Demonstrated experience with agency IT systems, missions, and strategies.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with senior customers, senior management, and implementation partners.
- Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining JIRA tickets.
- Demonstrated experience with AWS and Azure cloud services.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining constructive relationships among customers, stakeholders, technical teams, and contractors.
