Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you will be part of an Agile team working on a cloud-based project managed using Kubernetes. You will contribute to the development and enhancement of scalable applications while collaborating closely with team members and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions and continuous improvements.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable software applications using modern development practices.
• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Work with MySQL and relational databases to develop efficient and reliable data solutions.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Analyze existing applications, investigate issues, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions and improvements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code following established coding standards and development practices.
• Perform unit testing, code reviews, troubleshooting, and defect resolution to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Support continuous integration, deployment, and release activities in a cloud‑based environment.
• Work with containerized applications and contribute to application deployment and operational activities in a Kubernetes‑managed environment.
• Prepare and maintain necessary technical documentation, test cases, release notes, impact analysis, and other project artifacts.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute ideas to improve application architecture, development processes, and team practices.
• Continuously explore and apply new technologies and engineering practices that can improve system performance, reliability, maintainability, and developer productivity.
• Provide production support and resolve application issues within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), when required.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of professional experience in software development or software engineering.
• Solid programming experience with Java, preferably Java 17 or higher.
• Hands‑on experience developing applications or services using Spring Boot.
• Working knowledge of MySQL or other relational database technologies.
• Good understanding of software development life cycle and application development practices.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum or similar collaborative development environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and identify effective solutions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• A strong sense of teamwork and willingness to actively participate in team discussions, Agile ceremonies, and other team activities.
• Able to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative, and multicultural environment.
• Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and take on new technical challenges.

Willing, when necessary, to travel overseas, be on call, work occasional weekends, or work on shifts depending on project requirements.
