About the role
We're looking for an engineer early in their career, who wants a hands-on and creative role to enable the OptiGrid platform to scale with our customers. The role involves close collaboration with senior software engineers and domain experts. We're looking for someone to grow along with the company.
Key responsibilities
Deliver features end-to-end, from requirements through to production deployment, alongside senior engineers and domain experts.
Contribute to our AWS-based platform using containerised and serverless cloud infrastructure.
Support and troubleshoot live applications, investigating issues and following through to resolution.
Contribute to technical decisions on design, tooling and architecture, and take on increasing ownership over time.
About you
A collaborative, curious mindset with a habit of asking good questions and iterating quickly.
Real ownership and a high standard of quality in everything you deliver.
Experience in shipping high-quality software to production.
Application design fundamentals, including REST APIs and SQL databases.
Eagerness to learn and build in our Python-based AWS stack, leveraging containerised and serverless cloud infrastructure.
A completed computer science qualification or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Asynchronous Python in production applications (e.g. FastAPI) and typed models (e.g. Pydantic).
Experience building data pipelines or maintaining live applications.
Interest in energy markets, price forecasting or mathematical optimisation.
