Software Engineer

Build and maintain full-stack features, from user interfaces to backend services and databases, while growing across the stack in a collaborative engineering team.
We're hiring for our Engineering team - but not for a role boxed into frontend, backend, or full stack. At ParagonCorp, we're building a team of well-rounded software engineers: people who can work across the full application, from the interfaces users interact with to the services and databases running behind the scenes.
You’ll start by working from where your strengths are today, and we’ll deliberately grow you from there. Over time, the goal is for you to be comfortable moving across different parts of the stack, not stuck doing one thing forever.
Job Description:
- Design, build, and maintain features across the application, from user-facing interfaces to the services and databases that power them
- Work closely with designers, product managers, and other engineers to turn requirements into working, reliable software
- Write clean, well-documented code, and take part in code reviews to keep quality high across the team
- Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and improve the reliability of what you build
- Take on new types of engineering problems as they come up, and grow your skill set along with the team's needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a software engineering role
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and clean coding practices
- A track record of picking up new tools and skills quickly — you don't need to already know everything, but you should be someone who figures things out
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Most importantly: a genuine interest in becoming well-rounded across the stack, rather than staying a specialist in just one corner of it
