JOB SUMMARY

The IT Developer is a hands-on mid-level technology professional responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, testing, documenting, deploying and maintaining secure business applications. The role converts business requirements into functional and program specifications and delivers reliable solutions across the Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, modern web, integration and reporting technology stack. The role also provides post-project application support and maintenance while following approved software architecture, security and quality practices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Software Development and SDLC

  • Be responsible for software development using current and appropriate technologies in line with approved enterprise standards.

  • Perform activities throughout the application development life cycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, estimation, solution design, development, documentation, testing, implementation and support.

  • Transform business requirements into functional specifications, technical designs and program specifications that are clear, testable and traceable.

  • Develop, enhance and maintain software applications, shared components and supporting frameworks using C#, .NET, .NET Core / modern .NET and ASP.NET MVC.

  • Follow and implement approved software engineering practices and architectures, including object-oriented design, reusable components, dependency injection, asynchronous processing and secure coding.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as GitHub Copilot and AI-powered code generation platforms.

  • Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI concepts, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

Frontend, Services and API Development

  • Build and maintain responsive user interfaces using React or Angular together with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery, including support for existing applications where legacy libraries remain in use.

  • Develop and maintain .NET services, ASP.NET Web API and REST APIs using clear contracts, input validation, authentication and authorization controls, structured exception handling and consistent response models.

  • Integrate internal applications and external service providers, document interface behavior and maintain representative request and response payloads for support and testing.

Database, ETL and Reporting

  • Design, develop and optimize Microsoft SQL Server database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, queries, indexes and transactions.

  • Develop, schedule, monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages for controlled data extraction, transformation and loading.

  • Develop and maintain operational and management reports using Crystal Reports and RDLC, including datasets, parameters, grouping, totals, formatting and export behavior.

  • Investigate data discrepancies systematically and implement appropriate validation, reconciliation, audit logging and exception handling.

Testing, Release and Application Support

  • Prepare unit tests and support system integration testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing and defect resolution against agreed acceptance criteria.

  • Handle post-project application support and maintenance, including incident triage, defect correction, root-cause analysis and preventive improvement.

  • Use approved source control, branching, peer review, build and deployment practices; maintain database scripts, release notes, configuration guidance and rollback considerations.

  • Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, quality assurance, infrastructure, security, vendors and business users, and communicate material risks, constraints and dependencies early.

  • Undertake reasonable ad hoc assignments required by the reporting manager from time to time, where aligned with the role and organizational priorities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant practical experience.

  • Typically, 2 to 4 years of relevant software development experience, including independent delivery of medium-complexity application changes.

  • Practical experience in database-driven web applications, API integration, testing, deployment and production support within a structured SDLC environment.

  • Experience in financial services, investment, payment or other regulated enterprise systems is advantageous.
