Software Engineer

You will engage in the development of infrastructure that makes the modern day data driven applications infinancial services possible.You will enable ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics of virtually unlimited amounts of financialdata.You will harness the power of cloud computing to create a virtual on-demand supercomputer to runquantitative research that powers algorithmic financial trading.

Responsibilities

• Implement system functionality according to agreed software design
• Write quality code: correct, performant, maintainable and comes with high unit tests coverage
• Participate in peer code review
• Support your developed applications

Required for the Role

• Experience in writing and debugging high performance systems applications
• Experience writing production code in any systems development programming language like C++, Java,Python, Rust, and Go
• Knowledgeable in measuring code performance
• Must be comfortable with working in a Linux environment
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Commitment to finish tasks and meet deadlines
• Willingness to work in the BGC office, as per schedule

Desirable

• Prior experience writing production code in either C++ or Rust or Go
• Experience programming an FPGA
• Great desire to learn new things
• Works with a team, speaks his/her mind, and accepts team decisions on design choices
• Gets satisfaction in creating great products
• Experience with interpreting and acting on client feedback to make better products
