Software Engineer

About the role

The Software Engineer is accountable for the development and ongoing delivery of the core platforms behind Trippl's client engagements, with Odoo ERP at the centre. These platforms are the core operational systems underpinning finance, inventory, procurement, sales, and fulfilment for the organisations we serve. This is a hands on technical role spanning Odoo configuration and module development, custom Python services and integrations, and applied AI. The engineer builds and maintains Trippl's platform delivery capability, working alongside Trippl's engineering capability, delivery and enablement teams, and client stakeholders to streamline operations and enable clients to scale with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of Odoo across all in scope modules, including Finance, Inventory, Purchase, Sales, Manufacturing, and CRM
• Shape ERP configuration, customisation, and module development so the platform is built to the agreed process and architecture requirements
• Deliver Odoo projects on time and to agreed quality, scope, and performance standards
• Maintain clean, well documented Odoo instances, avoiding unnecessary custom code and technical debt from day one
• Design and deliver integrations between Odoo and the wider technology landscape: eCommerce, third party logistics, financial systems, and reporting tools
• Ensure master data is consistent, governed, and flows correctly across all connected systems, including products, customers, suppliers, and pricing
• Ensure platform stability, performance, and security through proactive monitoring and incident response
• Manage Odoo upgrades, patches, and third party module lifecycle in line with agreed change governance
• Design and build Python services, automations, and tooling beyond the Odoo codebase where engagements require it
• Work closely with client stakeholders to understand operational processes and translate them into clean, scalable ERP configuration

About you

• 3+ years hands on software development experience, including substantial Odoo development and configuration, with direct delivery of Odoo v16 or later
• Strong Python engineering background: services, integrations, scripting, and automated testing, alongside deep proficiency in Odoo's ORM, framework, and module development patterns
• AI experience is required: daily use of AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude, or similar) and practical experience building with LLM APIs or applying AI to business process automation
• Proficiency in the OWL framework, QWeb templates, and Odoo's JavaScript widget layer; experience writing automated tests (Python and JS) and managing Git branching and CI/CD for Odoo deployments
• Proven experience delivering Odoo implementations across Finance, Inventory, and Sales modules in a multi entity or wholesale/distribution environment
• Solid experience designing and building ERP integrations: REST APIs, XML-RPC, EDI, and middleware platforms
• Deep understanding of ERP data models, chart of accounts, product structures, inventory valuation, and purchase and sales flows
• Familiarity with master data management principles and cross system data governance
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Linux administration, and Odoo deployment infrastructure
